F Type Hinges

Flag hinges (loose joint hinges or lift hinges) are probably the most commonly used hinge on doors. The name flag hinge comes from its close resemblance to the appearance of a flag and flagpole.
It consists of two joint plates that are attached to the door and the frame and a pin that connects the plates and allows the door to rotate around itself.
Comes in right or left hand model.
Since the flag hinges are held in place by gravity alone, it is easy to remove the door when necessary.
Door hinges are usually installed on the inside of the door for security reasons. When the hinges are on the inside, it becomes much more difficult for someone to remove the door from the outside as the hinges are not visible and cannot be tampered with. This makes it harder for intruders to break in and provides an extra layer of security for the building. Additionally, mounting the hinges on the inside can help protect the hinges from external factors and extend their life.

Self Closing Hinges

Self-closing hinges are an innovative door hardware that allows doors to close more smoothly without the need for traditional door closers. Self-closing hinges have a compact design that combines door closer, door stopper, positioner and shock absorber in one body.
Eliminates unsightly hydraulic door closer arms that are not compatible with later systems such as screens or security doors. Its simple and beautiful design is compatible with different door styles.

Soft Close Hinges

They may also offer a soft-close feature. However, not all self-closing hinges have a slow-closing feature.
Generally, there are two types: spring hinges and hydraulic hinges.
In systems where both spring hinges and hydraulic hinges are used together, the spring hinge closes the door and the hydraulic hinge acts as a buffer and performs the slow closing task.

Hydraulic hinges and spring hinges

The combination of spring hinge and hydraulic hinge allows even heavy doors to operate with the desired features. At the same time, it has a high advantage over other systems as it provides very easy adjustment.
The spring hinge we offer to you does not require any adjustment, and our hydraulic hinge has a slow & soft closing feature in a single setting. Therefore, it is easy to install and even easier to adjust.
Ideal for all types of casement door applications including heavy commercial and industrial doors & wooden doors and aluminum doors…

How Many Hinges Do I Need?

This depends on the style of hinges, and most doors have three hinges depending on their size. However, you should measure your door to determine how many hinges you need. You need one hinge for every 762mm (30") of door height. Most doors are around 2200mm (90") high and above so have three hinges. Particularly large doors ranging from 920mm (36") to 1200mm (47") in width may benefit from one or more additional hinges for extra strength. The additional hinge helps provide greater durability. It supports the weight of the larger door, keeping the door and frame in better condition. The slow closing resistance applied in the opposite direction by the hydraulic hinge against the closing force applied by the spring hinge may cause the doors to bend. Therefore, it is recommended to use at least three hinges if possible.

The most common internal door sizes in Australian homes are 820mm wide and 2040mm high, although standard door sizes are 520mm to 920mm wide. As many new homes are now being built with higher ceilings, many doors are available as internal doors up to 2340mm high as well as the standard height of 2040mm.

How to Determine Door Handing

To choose the right hinge style and location, you must determine the correct door handling. Door handing is the direction your door opens. Swinging doors can be outswing, inswing, left-hand reverse, etc. Determine the door handling for entry and exterior doors from the exterior of your property. For interior doors, stand outside of the room looking at the door. Here’s a breakdown of the types of handling:
  • Hinges on the left = left handling
  • Hinges on the right = right handling
  • Door swings into the room = inswing
  • Door swings toward you = outswing
